Yes, we have type-approved E4 from the Netherlands in 2024. BROXBOX® is legal to use on the roads in the EU and EEA (including Norway), there are currently products for transporting skis on a trailer hitch in Norway today without this type approval - which are illegal and unfortunate in the event of an accident or insurance claim.

The ski box placed on top should not protrude beyond the car's bodywork by more than 15cm on each side in Norway¹.

No, BROXBOX® can be used for petrol/diesel cars, electric cars or hydrogen for that matter. It is particularly beneficial for cars that cannot have roof rails or a roof box on the roof. But it can be a nice alternative/supplement for transporting a roof box anyway as the wind resistance is much less than when placed on the roof (range and petrol/diesel consumption) and it is much easier to get to to take the skis out of the ski box when you arrive. It can also be suitable if you generally have a full car and a roof box on the roof. In that case, you can also use BROXBOX® for extra storage on the cars tow ball.

We have tested most Thule and Packline ski boxes, but also some models from other brands.

Yes, we also sell to most European countries, we use Bring for this. Goods & Shipping will then be sold without Norwegian VAT. Broxbox is adapted to a standard ø50mm tow ball. The lights have a 13-pin electrical connection. This is most common on newer cars. If you need a 7-pin connection, an adapter can be purchased on our website.

Most roof boxes on the market come with "U-brackets" or "claws". Both conventionally go around the roof's transverse roof rails.

The BROXBOX® uses the same mountings of the roof box, but they are instead mounted through the openings/cutouts in the BROXBOX®. We have made the cutouts large enough to accommodate most roof boxes. The cutouts are also designed so that the thickness embraced by the roof box mountings corresponds to the thickness of conventional roof rails.

Yes, if the registration number is entered in the order, in our online store check out, we will produce your registration number on your license plate. This is produced on 0.65mm thick aluminum plate for sublimation. The dimensions 520mm x 110mm are standard European license plates and this is produced according to the recommendations of the Norwegian Road Administration (original license plates should not be produced by the Norwegian Road Administration for bike racks etc. but should be made with print or marker yourself). We have added our logo to the license plate to highlight that it is produced for BROXBOX®.

BROXBOX® is designed and tested for 65kg weight. With a curb weight of 12kg, the towbar's capacity can be dimensioned at, for example, 75kg or the roof box itself can have a limitation of, for example, 50kg. It is probably the trailer coupling or the roof box that limits the weight (as BROXBOX® limitation including full roof box has a limit of 77kg)

Roof boxes or BROXBOX® should not be used in an automated car wash. The most effective way is to wash them is with a damp cloth or sponge - in our experience, dust particles come off relatively easily. Be careful with reflective tape and stickers. The lights are IP46 and can also be washed.

BROXBOX® can be stored lying on a dry surface or hung on the wall-mounted storage tow ball sold on our website. If stored hanging, any moisture will drain out and you can also store it together with the ski box fixed to it. If the supplied padlock is also used, it is also secured against theft. If you want a wall-mounted tow ball for storage both at home and at the resort/cottage, you're free to add two of these to the order.

Yes, it's perfectly fine to charge, for example, on a supercharger or other chargers as long as there is room for it. Normally there is a decent amount of space for this. Keep an eye on the rearview camera and mirrors.
